FAMILY

While personal, close up portraits of oneself are simply not for everyone... family shots, in my opinion, are a must. Whether you hire a professional photograher or not, make sure you are taking family pictures often and throughout the years. You can read the "about me" section to learn more about why i think that's so important, but in summary, photographs of the people you love are truly the only kind of treasure you'll really ever care that much about. 

So even if you're the not the photo type - i urge you, moms and dads and teens (etc!) - to let whatever reason for that go, for that moment, and get on in there with the people you love. Consider that if you don't, someday in the future either you, or someone you love, might really regret that you didn't.
